This week we will be finally showing the documentary/film titled:"No llegues hasta acá" ('Do not come down here'). This Tuesday will be special as we will be doing our first film-debate-night.
This bright documentary, based on true testimonies, tells a fiction story delivering many of the reasons that might lead many youngsters to commit felonies, as well as the reasons which can lead them to abandon such behavior. The film will take us into the prisons of Mendoza (Argentina) showing the crude reality of the life and people inside these. The aim of this production is to help us and our generation of young adolescents, to realize which decisions, situations and social environment might result decisive in our lives, as with knowledge and education it is possible (if not the only way) to build a better prospective society.
This production was entirely done in Mendoza, Argentina. After the film, we will be having a period to share and have an open debate. We will discuss how this might have an impact on the social environment each of us has grown up and among other interesting triggering questions.
CineStanford will like to thanks Daniel A. Caselles (aka Dani) for bringing this proposal and film. Dani will be conducting us through some questions.
I strongly recommend you all to join us for a night a bit different from others. Feel free to bring friends and family.
