Sylvia (Charlize Theron), la gerente de un restaurante, trata a
los clientes de manera amable y profesional. Pero oculta un tormentoso
pasado que sale a la luz cuando recibe la visita un extraño que viene de
México. En México, una joven vive feliz con su padre y su mejor amigo
hasta que un trágico accidente arruina su vida. En la ciudad fronteriza
de Las Cruces, dos adolescentes enamorados luchan por salir adelante
tras la repentina muerte de sus padres. Finalmente, un ama de casa que
vive en una caravana, se mete en un affaire que conectará a Sylvia y a

The Burning Plain follows the story of several different people
separated by time and space -Sylvia, a woman in Oregon who must
undertake an emotional odyssey to rid herself of her past; Mariana and
Santiago, two teenagers trying to piece together the shattered lives of
their parents in a New Mexico border town; Maria, a little girl who goes
on a border-crossing voyage to help her parents find redemption,
forgiveness, and love; and Gina and Nick, a couple who must deal with an
intense and clandestine affair... because they are both married.
